I think that Comin' Thro' The Rye is not good poetry, poetry is supposed to make you think and make you feel something and this poem didn't. Although, the poem was written in old English, so it was hard to understand and connect with.
A good poem is one that you can connect with, one that you can feel and really think about. A good poem is not a poem that is just made up, a good poem is a story that the author has something to do with. I think that a good example of a Poem is
"This Is My Letter To The World"
by Emily Dickinson

This is my letter to the world,
That never wrote to me,
The simple news that Nature told,
With tender majesty.

Her message is committed
To hands I cannot see;
For love of her, sweet countrymen,
Judge tenderly of me!

I would like to call J.D. Salinger, Obviously I can't but if I could I would ask him about the end of the Catcher In The Rye. I would ask him if Holden finally feels ready to apply himself school, how did he not realize that he needed that after he got kicked out of school the first two times. And after all the stuff he went through with Phoebe Holden said he was the happiest he's been, but has he never hung out with his sister before? I still thought the book was pretty good, but I never really liked Holden.

Blog 6

This week has been pretty Hectic, I had to make sure I have all the blogs ready for English, have had projects in Italian and Math, an Italian test, and the driving test. The only good thing that has really happened this week is that I found out that I passed my driving test the first time, and I have had a sub in my guitar class for three days because the teacher is on jury duty. Thats about all that I do during the week is schoolwork, but My little brother also went to Hills for an orientation because he is in the 8th grade this year.
Today is thursday now and today was probably the best day this whole week(besides tomorrow because its friday). Today was really good becuase I really didn't have to do anything in most of my classes today... we just kind of chilled. In guitar we had a sub again, in math we had a short review and just presented our projects the rest of the time, In drivers ed we watched a movie, and in chemistry we did a cool mini lab. The only problem with thursday is knowing all day that you have to come back to school on Friday.
Now it is Thursday night, and I will probably finish writing this friday morning because I am going to go to bed soon because it is almost twelve o'clock. I am pretty happy now though because I am on my last blog and all my getaclue is done so I am just going to watch some tv and then go to bed. And now I am back awake in first period Italian... where my Italian teacher wants my class to write a poem about halloween with some vocab she showed us. Hopefully today will be a good day to make up fo the rest of my week

I am definitely excited to read the book after reading the article. Mostly because if people care so much about this piece of book, then it is probably pretty good. But I do think that some people are very opinionated about certain pieces of literature, and that some pieces of literature do have two sides to them. For example, When some of my classmates last year read Of Mice And Men some people thought "well why did George shoot Lenny, he was challenged, so what, he never did anything wrong." The funny thing is that some people really liked George as a character because they understood that he was trying to put Lenny out of his misery in a way.

I agree with Wes and his statement, that no matter who you are you have to pay when you commit a crime. The other story that Wes shares with David is one from his childhood. Wes and one of his friends were picking up golf balls when some older native American boys approached them and started to bully them. Wes' brother Frank helped Wes and his friend escape from the bullies like any other big brother would do. The relation is that; Even though he got away without trouble for stealing the golf balls, he believes that justice shoudl be served.

The Character that I pick is Gail Hayden, what she wants is simple. It is for Wes to quit the Sheriff job, or at least wanted him to never take it at all. The obstacle preventing her from reaching this goal, is Wes' Father, Julian. Julian likes Frank(Wes' brother) more than he likes Wes, so Wes tries to impress him and get his approval any way that he can.
What I want is to finish all my blogs by Friday the 30th, so that I can get a good grade in Ms. Kaser's class. But I don't face a major obstacle like Gail does, so I will probably achieve my goal and submit all my blogs by the 30th.

Wes Hayden's Feelings Toward Native Americans

What are Wes Hayden's feelings toward Native Americans? How does this view compare to the perspective held by other family members? Include a quotation for support when providing your answer.
Wes Hayden believes that they are lazy and irresponsible, the author said that when he was about 7 or 8 years old an aunt gave him a pair of moccasins for his birthday and his father forbade him to wear them.
